The last South First Friday of the year did not disappoint. The monthly, artsy event brought plenty of thoughtful art and excellent music to San Jose’s South First Street.
After having a couple of stiff drinks in the cozy heated patio of The Continental, we wandered across the street to the first stop on the journey at Anno Domini Gallery. There, featured works that followed a theme centered on the individual, introspection, and the various dimensions of identity
Further down South First Street, we stumbled

into The Ritz. The evenings entertainment featured a band that performed some originals and eclectic covers, effortlessly spun together: Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” layered over the Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter.”
South First Friday never disappoints. MACLA, Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana, always has works that celebrate the diversity of San Jose and California, and other venues feature their own little gem’s by local artists as well.
And now, we wait until next year, for another unforgettable stroll through South First Friday.
