Christmas In The Park

The best way to celebrate the holiday season? With a warm cup of hot chocolate or caramel apple cider spiked with whiskey at San Jose’s annual Christmas In The Park, of course.

Christmas In The Park is a San Jose tradition that brings a whole lot of lights, Christmas trees, and holiday displays to Downtown San Jose’s Chavez Park. The park becomes a Christmas-utopia filled with dozens of Christmas trees decorated by local businesses and organizations in support of the community.

There’s also the 40-foot Christmas tree that dones the park — dubbed “The Giving Tree’– and the myriad of Christmas displays, depicting holiday scenes with the help of mechanical dolls and stuffed animals (above), which makes it an excellent adventure for kids and  adults.

Even though there are obviously many other holidays that make the holiday season the most special time of the year, Christmas In The Park is just as politically correct as one would hope, the proof maybe the lovely Christmas tree donated by the Atheist Community (below).

Whatever the reason, may it be checking out the carousel of parachuting penguins, taking a stroll down Candy-Cane Lane, or the cause of supporting local non-profits, Christmas In The Park is a holiday must.
