The un-dead were once again causing a ruckus downtown San Jose last Thursday, October 3rd. The annual event was planned by the San Jose Zombie Crawl group on Facebook, and it also supported a great cause. I caught up with one of the friendlier zombies and got the facts.
Alright Zombie, what’s your zombie name?
Zandra.
So what are you doing roaming the streets of San Jose with all of your fellow zombies?
Well, in reality I am here supporting the American Cancer Society because all of the money from this is going towards the American Cancer Society, (and the AIDS LifeCycle) which is really close to my heart.
That’s awesome! How did you hear about this event?
I actually heard about this from my friend Anthony. He told me there was a zombie crawl going on, so I looked it up and saw that it was supporting the cancer society, and I was definitely down to join.
Do you remember the name of the website where you found it?
The first thing that popped up was the Facebook page.
Ok I see. So what’s a benefit of being a zombie?
You get really good drink specials, you get to be awesome , and everybody wants to be around you! (laughs) I dunno, it’s great.
Do you like your outfit? What’s the story behind it?
Yes, I love my outfit. Honestly, when I saw it, it reminded me of the Walking Dead because of the cops on the show.
Yes! How do you think you contribute to San Jose by being an awesome cop zombie?
Well, I think that this kind of promotes unity because I’m hanging out with people I’ve never hung out with before in my life.
And then there’s the cause too right?
Exactly! There is a cause behind it and it brings really awesome people together and you meet really cool people through it.
Like me!
Yes!
Well thank you Zandra!
You’re welcome!
Any last comments?
